The problem

Most late jobs were late the day they were promised.

The date goes out before anyone knows what the floor can do.

  1. Standards are guesses. Routing times were typed in years ago, rounded, or copied from a similar part. Some are off by half.
  2. Dates come from gut feel. The answer depends on who picks up the phone, not on what’s already queued at the bottleneck.
  3. Late shows up late. By the time a job turns red, the only move left is calling the customer.

How it works

From the spreadsheet you have to a date you can stand behind.

  1. Step 1

    Import what you have

Jobs, routings, machines and time records from Excel or CSV, or synced from JobBOSS² every hour. You confirm how the columns map; nothing is guessed silently.

  2. Step 2

    Takt learns your real times

Setup and run times per part, operation and machine, from your own time records. Missed clock-outs and unattended runs are cleaned out first.

  3. Step 3

Promise with a chance and the evidence

Ask about any job, or a new part straight from its drawing. You get the chance it ships on time, the most likely date, the date you can be 95% sure of, and what’s driving the risk.

Product

One view of the shop, from the board to the promise.

Schedule board. Every machine’s week: the work due against its hours, and a mark on each job that needs attention. A re-plan drafts changes across the shop, here five that put three jobs back on track. The floor keeps to the published schedule until someone publishes the draft.

Job page. The job’s chance and dates beside its operations: where each runs, when, and where it stands, with what to do next one press away.

Promise check. The chance of shipping by the date asked, how sure each later date is and what drives the risk. Nothing reaches the customer until you commit the date.

Routers

From a drawing to a router you can quote.

Drop a part’s PDF drawing or a screenshot. Takt finds the callouts; TaktAI works out the stock, operations, machines, and setup and run times. Check a promise date before the quote goes out.

Routers. Takt found five features on this shaft’s drawing, and TaktAI worked out the blank, the operations and their times on the shop’s machines. The slot is drawn as lines, not text, so its size waited for a person to check before the router could be approved and sent to JobBOSS².

  • Every value points at the drawing. Each feature has the same number on the list and beside its callout. Anything read from a scan waits for a person to check.
  • Times you can defend. Worked out from feeds and speeds at your shop’s efficiency, shown next to how your similar work really runs.
  • Weldments, plate and parts lists. A drawing of several parts is read one item at a time, and a weldment gets a router of its own.
  • A person approves every router. Change any step, or ask Takt to, then send it to JobBOSS² as a new estimate. A router never overrides the routing in your ERP.

Takt

Takt does the legwork. You make the call.

Ask in plain words. Takt answers from your shop’s data, drafts what you’d otherwise type, and tells you when something moves.

Fixes, tested before you see them

On a late job’s page, Takt re-plans and simulates every option against your published schedule before it’s shown. A planner adds one to the draft, with a reason.

The customer email, drafted

Takt writes the update with the forecast’s dates and a reason that’s safe to share. You check it and send it yourself. TaktAI has no way to send it.

Shop questions, answered and labelled

Ask about a tap drill, a fit or a finish and Takt answers from general machining knowledge, labelled as such. It never goes into a router, the schedule or a promise unless you type it in yourself.

What moved overnight, and why

When a job’s chance moves by more than the noise, Takt says so on Home and on the job’s page, with the cause worked out from your data.

Trust

AI that shows its work.

Takt answers questions and drafts changes. It doesn’t get to make things up, and it doesn’t get the last word.

  • Takt never makes up a number about your shop. Every date, chance and time comes from TaktAI’s own models, built on your shop’s records. A general machining answer is labelled as one.
  • Every prediction shows its evidence. How many past runs, how many simulations, and what’s driving the risk.
  • Takt proposes. A person approves. Schedules, promises to customers, routers and changes to your standards stay drafts until someone signs off.
  • Checked against what shipped. Every promise is scored once the job ships, so you can see whether 80% really means 80%.

Why only 87% for J26-0373?

The wait for 5AX-01 is the biggest risk to its date.

OP 30 usually waits about 9 hours for 5AX-01.

5AX-01 has about 61 hours of work due in the 55 hours it runs this shift and the next.

Security

Your job data, and nothing more.

  • Job and time data, and drawings only if you choose. No CAD files or part images. A drawing is kept only if you save it with its router.
  • Each shop’s data is kept apart from every other shop’s.
  • Only what a question needs goes to an AI provider: the job, operation and machine figures behind the answer, and a drawing only when you ask Takt to read it. No customer names, and no provider trains on your data.
  • Encrypted in transit and at rest, and hosted in the United States.

FAQ

Questions shop owners ask.

Still have a question? [email protected]

Do we need an ERP?

No. Starter works from Excel or CSV exports. If you run JobBOSS², TaktAI can read from it directly.

What data do you need?

Jobs, routings and machines. For learned times, also your time records: clock-ins and clock-outs per operation. For routers, a part’s drawing, only if you choose to share it. No CAD files.

Does Takt make up numbers?

No. Takt explains and drafts; every date, chance and time comes from TaktAI’s own models and shows the evidence behind it. Ask a general machining question, like a tap drill size, and the answer is labelled general knowledge, not your shop’s data.

Can Takt read our drawings?

Yes, once your admin turns it on. Drop a PDF drawing or a screenshot and Takt drafts a router: stock, operations, machines and times, each value tied to the drawing. The drawing is kept only if you save it with the router.

Does Takt email our customers?

No. Takt drafts the message with the forecast’s dates; you edit it and send it from your own email. TaktAI has no way to send it.

Who approves changes?

You do. Schedules, customer promises, routers and changes to your standards stay drafts until a person approves them.

Does it replace our ERP?

No. Your ERP stays the system of record. TaktAI reads from it and tells you what’s realistic.

What does it cost?

It depends on your shop’s size and data tier. We’ll walk you through it on the demo.

How long does setup take?

Usually under a week. Most of it is confirming how your columns map to jobs, routings and machines.

Is our data used to train AI models?

No. Your records teach TaktAI your own shop’s times, and nothing else: they are never used to train AI models for anyone, by TaktAI or by the AI providers it uses.
